Update and Goals...

It's been 11 months since I last relaxed my hair and it's all going really well... I'm really glad I made the decision to stop relaxing my hair and go natural :-) These are 2 current pictures of my hair... I think I mentioned before, I don't wear weaves or extensions, I have learned so many ways to style my hair...

Fitness-wise, I'm stuck in a rut... again! I'm still working out 5 times a week but I've started eating a lot of crap... AGAIN! It's so annoying! Friends claim I look the same but I don't think so... so I will go back to what I have done before... I will take a few pictures of myself this weekend and compare every week.... I will also have a food diary so I can track what I am eating... Here we go again!
I'm studying for a qualification in Personal Training... I'm really enjoying it :-) And no, I haven't quit my 9-5, I'm doing this outside office hours.

Hey :-)

LOL... I'm still rubbish at blogging!

I'm about to start a training course on fitness (it will all lead to a personal training qualification)... yay! My level of fitness is slowly increasing and it's so good to see how much progress I've made!
I couldn't do one pressup... ONE... a year ago and now I can do at least 20 before taking a break.... I've seen and felt muscles I never knew I had.... and no I don't look muscular ;-)

Anyway, a little on my hair... It's been over 10 months since I last relaxed my hair and I'm proud to stay I still look very very okay ;-)

This is how I've had my hair for the past 3 weeks (this is all my hair, I don't use extensions)...

I wish I'd gone natural much earlier than now... I can't wait till I have enough hair to get rid of my relaxed ends... 8 months and counting :-)

Half Marathon Result

Last year's time: 2hrs 20mins 41secs

This year: 2hrs 11mins 40secs... so close to 2hrs 10mins!!!! Very frustrating! I definitely had it in me but I'll admit now that I did intense workouts Mon-Thurs, instead of taking it easy! I thought I was fine until I got to the 12th mile - this is the point when I usually pick up my pace and RUN! Well... it so didn't happen, my legs weren't interested in what I wanted them to do, they just kept jogging and I didn't do my usual sprint finish :-(

I am glad I shaved 9 minutes off my last half marathon but disappointed I didn't make my target! So... I'm thinking about registering for another half marathon, which takes place in February :-)

New Theme for my Blog

I've been finding it really hard to update this blog... now I know it's cos things are different now. I don't have much to say about my personal life (by choice)....

After thinking about it for a while, I've decided I'll make my blog about:

1. Hair
and
2. Fitness

I can talk about the above at least once a week easily because I have a lot to say :-). I'll probably only update my Fitness Blog after any races I take part in.


Now I know I will definitely update this weekly :-)

Still struggling

I cannot believe how hard it is to get back into blogging! Maybe I'll be updating once a month, LOL!

I'm well, training for my half marathon, which will be on Sunday the 11th of October. I'm hoping I can do it in 2 hours 10 minutes or less. Hmm.... 10 minute miles = SCARY! A little more on it's HERE.

I'm really working hard on changing the way I deal with some things in life, I'm doing well with working on things but I worry too much sometimes, I waste time and energy on completely unworthy things... I need to remember that life is too damn short, life shouldn't be complicated... It should be straightforward like I have witnessed in some people's lives. These people don't waste time thinking... they just do, they live... and yes they also have problems. But they always make the most of life.... I want to be like that <---- Good luck me!

Still easing in gently... Friday Randomness (Again!)

My last post was 4 weeks ago!

It's hard to get back into the routine :-(

A little more about my hair: I'm growing out my natural hair i.e. no more relaxers. My friends made me laugh a couple of months ago - we were talking about something else when suddenly my hair became the topic. They loved how I'd styled my hair - a rollerset - and said it really suited me then ofcourse... One of my friends said she wasn't sure about my decision to go natural and what will I do to my hair on my wedding day? (I am not engaged!) LOL! My other friend asked me what I'd be doing with my hair because the last time I had natural hair (my final year at Uni, I always had it up in a puff). Those are 2 of the 3 people I decided to explain my reasons why I made my decision and what I plan to do with my hair when it's natural. The 3rd person is my sister... anyone else who asks me, in a, "OMG you're gonna look so scruffy" way, I don't bother with. Wait till I'm natural then we can have the discussion again.

It's been 7.5 months since I last relaxed my hair and this is my hair today, I don't walk around with rough hair, lol:

I am happy with my decision and won't cut off my relaxed ends till next year. I try to have my hair curly for 1-3 days most weeks so that my thick natural new growth (compared to my relaxed ends) is not so obvious :-)

Friday Randomness

I can't get personal on this blog and at the same time, I can't be bothered to start a brand new blog with a different email address (I have enough already!), it's going to be a waste of my precious time.

I'm still working on figuring out how to blog without getting too personal, my other blog was about my Mummy for 3/4s of the time I spent there...

What will I talk about here???

1. Fitness? No need I have a fitness blog. But I might start to talk some things fitness related as time goes by, on this blog.... My fitness blog will be more about my exercise regime and my attempt to start eating better (not dieting... eating right).
2. Hair care? Maybe... I know I haven't really said much about hair care on any of my blogs but I am soooo into this. I don't wear weaves, braids or wigs.... I haven't done braids in over 2 years now. I LOVE my hair and I don't want to hide it away in or under anything that is not my hair... I might talk about hair care, styling, etc here actually.


3. Random things like I used to before - might be something I read, something I saw, something I experienced (again not too personal).... yes, I'll do that too. LOL @ THIS (http://stfumarrieds.tumblr.com/), love it!
